Charles Costa (formerly known as King Charles) has returned with his fantastic new single, ‘Thief’. Opening with a swirling, melodic vocoder intro that gives way to a song filled with interesting production choices and emotional ebb and flow. His experimental alt-folk sound owes a lot to the more exploratory works of Bon Iver, with these influences combining with his own unique style to form something truly special. He explains that ‘Thief’ is “about the savagery of heartache. The journey from hope to despair. I put great significance on the idea of love and attach a lot of hope to it - so when it collapses or isn't real the longing turns into a lament.” Charles Costa is releasing a self-titled album on January 24th, 2025. -Dan Peeke
